Exchange students

The university offers free pick-up service from the airport (or other points of arrival) to all international students. To guarantee the service, bookings must be made at least one week before the date of arrival.

En un mundo globalizado, se valora cada vez más el dominio de varias lenguas y, particularmente, del inglés. Ante esa exigencia, la universidad ofrece algunas asignaturas en ese idioma.
English-taught courses
To facilitate the integration of international students, Universidad ORT Uruguay offers some courses which are taught entirely in English. Other university courses are offered as dual-language courses, meaning that lectures are given in Spanish with course materials and assessments available in English.
Additional to the information below, you must send in a scan or photo of your passport to your exchange program coordinator.

Check your passport expiration date to make sure you have at least 6 months of validity remaining on your passport at the time of travel.

You must also acquire health insurance and provide proof of your policy. This requirement must be met in order to participate in the program, although you may present your proof of insurance upon arrival in Uruguay.

As an international exchange student you are allowed to select and combine course units from a wide range of programs.
As a non-degree seeking international student you are allowed to select and combine course units from a wide range of programs.
As a non-degree seeking international student you are allowed to combine subjects from different schools, programs and semesters, as long as their schedules are compatible.
Most courses are taught in Spanish, which is why all international non-degree seeking students are required to prove their intermediate language competence in Spanish.
Our exchange program is open to all students from partner universities.
The academic year in Uruguay starts in March and ends in December. All undergraduate programs are subdivided into two terms, going from March to July and from August to December.
If you are an exchange student from one of our partner universities you must be nominated by your international office before submitting your application.
